African American History and Culture
A teaching ministry with the moral responsibility of providing activities, events and information to increase awareness and enhance understanding of African American History and Culture in relationship to the role of Christians in a culturally diverse society.
Bible Study
Provides the bible student with the knowledge of God’s word; encouraging them to search the scripture for truth and God’s will in our daily lives. It also enhances Christian growth through consistent study of the Holy Scriptures.
Church School
Responds to the biblical mandate to teach God’s people. The mission is to help the congregation gain an understanding of the Bible, attain a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ, develop a sound Christian life and acquire a responsibility to the church, community and the world.
Language Arts Ministry
Teaches languages (e.g., Spanish, French, American Sign Language) and provides students with planned opportunities to immerse themselves in the language through a trip to a restaurant where the language is spoken, local community service or fellowship, and a global mission trip. The ultimate goal is to learn the language in order to build relationships with, and share God’s love with our family, friends, and neighbors for whom English is not their first language.
Library
Provides a variety of information resources that will enable members of the congregation to study and grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through printed documents and the use of electronic media, the library will provide a collection of materials that will nurture the mind, enhance spiritual growth, and build up the body of Christ.
New Members’ Orientation Ministry
Nurtures and supports new members by conducting classes on Christian beliefs, Baptist practices and church membership. Also, a reception is planned to welcome new members and introduce them to the church ministries.
Parenting Ministry
Systematic Training for Effective Parenting is designed to empower parents to better meet the challenges of raising children. STEP is an opportunity for parents to develop positive, well-balanced healthy children who are prepared to live independent, productive, and purposeful lives.
“Train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
